Summit Utilities Earns National Recognition for Advancing Women in the Utility Industry

The award honors organizations that are making meaningful strides in diversity and inclusion by preparing and supporting women for leadership roles in operations, engineering, and other critical areas of the industry. 

“Women are helping shape the future of the utility industry, and Summit is excited to champion their success,” said Amiee York, senior vice president of human resources at Summit Utilities. “Women serve in four of Summit’s seven executive leadership roles, and two of the company’s six board members are women, including the chairperson of the board. This award motivates us to continue creating pathways for women to thrive at every level of our company.” 

Summit has taken intentional steps to support women across the organization, including launching Women Igniting Success & Empowerment (WISE) in 2024. The employee resource group focuses on leadership, mentorship, and growth while creating a supportive network for personal and professional development. WISE includes employees from across the company and operates through committees focused on external events, internal events, volunteer efforts, and communications.
